To obtain agency approvals, an instrument must be designed and manufactured to exacting specifications. This takes considerable time, expertise, and resources. When combined with the substantial costs required by each regional certification agency to evaluate each instrument, many manufacturers simply can't afford this investment. Or worse, they are not willing to make it.
