What is IEC 61508?

IEC 61508 Certified Safety standard IEC 61508 is quickly becoming a major deciding factor for purchasing process instrumentation for safety applications. This standard directs the processes used through the entire life cycle of a product, from the earliest stages of concept and design, through the manufacturing and final decommissioning of the product.
