New SPA2IS Programmable Alarm Trip with Intrinsically-Safe (IS) Field Connections Reduces Installation and Maintenance Costs

New SPA2IS Programmable Alarm Trip with Intrinsically-Safe (IS) Field Connections Reduces Installation and Maintenance Costs

Moore Industries has released the new SPA2IS programmable alarm trips with built-in intrinsically-safe (IS) field connections. Now customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas extraction & refining and pharmaceutical industries that monitor, control, and measure signals in hazardous areas have an alarm solution that significantly reduces wiring, installation and maintenance costs. The newest member of Moore Industries' family of Limit Alarm Trips and Switches, the SPA2IS is a combination alarm trip and temperature transmitter solution that includes built-in intrinsically-safe field connections for current/voltage, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), and thermocouple.

New Configuration Options Added to STA

New Configuration Options Added to STA
In response to customer feedback, the STA Safety Trip Alarm has been updated to provide more flexibility in handling input faults. This allows for spurious alarm to be minimized and for alarms to be cleared with power cycling or needing physical access to the unit.

STA Aids in Functional Safety Coal Gas Extraction Application Down Under

STA Aids in Functional Safety Coal Gas Extraction Application Down Under

Moore Industries-Pacific recently sold 221 STA Safety Trip Alarms to be used in a Functional Safety coal gas extraction application in Australia. A Coal Seam Gas exploration company with hundreds of sites in Queensland has production wells with up to 10 inputs controlled locally by Remote Terminal Units (RTUs). The STA will be implemented as part of their independent Protection System with a level alarm on each wellhead separator. Larger volume production wells may need up to four separators per RTU panel.

Universal Power Supply Added to STA

Universal Power Supply Added to STA
The STA Safety Trip Alarm datasheet and installation manuals have been updated. The new change reflects the addition of a Universal power supply to the unit. Previously, customers needed to select either a 24DC or UAC power supply. The new Universal power supply accepts any power input range between 21.6-375Vdc or 90-260Vac.
